According to police reports over 100,000 was seized from a medical marijuana dispensary and business owner’s family. It has been over 15 months after the collective got raided, and the city has not charged anyone for a crime.
James Slatic, business owner of Med-West Distribution was shocked to find out that not only was his business getting raided, but all of his family’s funds were put on hold.
Slatic’s personal bank account was put on freeze, including his wife and step daughters accounts.
Agents took all of their cannabis inventory, and just over 324,000 was seized in cash.
According to business owner Slatic, no one broke any rules, all permits were up to date, and they had been fully up and running for the past two years. The collective supplied medical flowers, cannabis oils, topical creams, and cannabis edibles.
It has been devastating 15 months for both him and his family. He has gone on explaining how he feels like he has been robbed by police.
Slatic and his attorneys argued that their family money must be returned at the very least.
Business owner’s attorney argued that this money is not part of any case and should be returned to business owner and his family. The judge agreed and issue the order that this money be returned or otherwise repaid so the family can be made whole again with respect to their personal financial loss.
